Open Until Filled Job Type Adjunct Instructor Internal Category Adjunct Instructor Position Purpose Applications are sought for adjunct instructors of English writing workshop and English Composition I and II courses. Courses may be taught on campus and/or at dual enrollment sites in area high schools. These courses are options for the fulfillment of the Cumberland University's General Education Core. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Demonstrated inter- and intrapersonal skills, especially in engaging with traditional and non-traditional university students. Evidence of high level of personal agency and initiative. Demonstrated organizational skills. Successful use of multiple creative instructional strategies and technologies in the classroom and online to improve educational outcomes of diverse learners. Experience Evidence of rigorous, creative, and effective teaching at the collegiate level. Education Completed Master's degree in English. 18 graduate hours in English completed as part of a Master's degree in related field may be accepted with other exceptional qualifications.

Additional Information

Available for Fall and Spring semesters on site at the main campus in Lebanon, TN and potentially at high school site(s) in Wilson County TN for dual enrollment courses.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in English or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in English. Candidates must demonstrate effective collegiate-level teaching experience and the ability to engage diverse learners.
