  • Who we are: Wildwood School provides a comprehensive educational program for students with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities to prepare them to be as independent as possible. Academic, social, employment, and functional skills are taught to each student as driven by their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), needs, and interests.
  • Who we are looking for: We are looking for caring, compassionate and engaging individuals to help promote independence, self-esteem and social integration in a special education setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists students, individually or in groups, with specialized instructional programs. Assists teachers in the development and use of available instructional resources, materials and equipment appropriate to student learning. Assists with the monitoring of students' activities in all areas of building and on the playground and during arrival and dismissal periods. Attends to the physical needs of students such a helping with clothing or attending to personal hygiene and toilet habits as needed. Learns and uses behavior management strategies to increase students' participation in the educational program. Assists teachers with clerical tasks such as attendance taking and reporting, etc...

  • Requirements: A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required. Required to complete, pass, and use CALM training, provided by the school, which includes de-escalation strategies and approved protective holds and movements for students.
