Assistant Professor Reports To: Program Chair Department: Social Work FLSA Status: Exempt Employment Status: Full-time, tenure-track, 12-month appointment
Position Summary
Mount Mary is looking for an Assistant Professor to teach primarily in the online MSW program. This tenure-track position requires significant contact with students, faculty, and administrative offices to ensure that each Mount Mary University social work student receives quality social work education. Position provides 100% teaching in social work courses consistent with practice experience. On-campus presence is preferred. Primary Responsibilities: Teach courses related to social work, with a focus on clinical and children/families. Curriculum development and revision Serve as a resource for faculty members and other program areas Serve on faculty assembly and All-University committees Provide service to the institution and the community Engage in ongoing scholarship and professional activity (research, publications, presentations) Advise students Support social work student organizations Maintain compliance with CSWE accreditation standards Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned Skills and Experience: PhD/DSW in social work from a CSWE accredited program Previous undergraduate or masters social work teaching experience; will also consider other relevant experience Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional code of ethics and best practices Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to work with diverse groups Ability to work collaboratively as a member of professional and community groups
