Job Description

Based on semester and class schedule needs. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Working knowledge of up-to-date theory and technique associated with physical therapy content specific to the course. Knowledge of Power Point programs or ability to understand instruction in Power Point presentations. Knowledge of Blackboard or ability to understand instruction in Blackboard. Verbal speaking skills. Observation skills. Verbal public speaking skills Basic computer skills Strong time management skills Ability to: Multi-task Organize technical information into the level appropriate for physical therapist assistants Create strategies to help students overcome weaknesses to acquire knowledge Demonstrate physical therapy techniques associated with course content Manage equipment associated with course content. Essential Functions: Present course material to PTA students via lecture, demonstration, Power Point, and class activities. Review textbooks and reference materials to have mastery of content and up to date information. Create course material and/or revise existing course material. This includes Power Points, hand-outs, examinations, classroom activities, assignments, etc. Assess student performance and comprehension through tests, assignments, and graded classroom activities (such as lab pracitcals). Communicate with other facutly involved in the course (i.e. lab assistants, lab instructors) for consistency in course content/expectations. Other Characteristics: Effective interpersonal communication skills Open-minded to students/staff from various backgrounds Adaptable to various situations Effective with planning and organizing High degree of professionalism Self starter. Minimum Education/Experience: Associate degree or two-year technical certificate Associate Degree in Physical Therapy and (1) one year of work related experience exclusive of teaching OR BS in related field
