Position Title: Applicant Pool for Adjunct Faculty, Sonography, Supervised Lab Instructor

Job Description

The primary responsibility for this position is to facilitate hands-on skill development, reinforce didactic content, and evaluate student performance in accordance with program objectives, departmental policies, and accreditation standards. Essential Functions: Facilitate hands-on laboratory sessions focused on development of scanning skills, probe manipulation, image optimization, and protocols. Demonstrate proper scanning techniques, patient positioning, and ergonomics. Reinforce didactic concepts through practical application in the lab setting. Encourage student participation and engagement while fostering a supportive learning environment. Observe, assess, and provide timely documentation of student performance during lab activities. Ensure proper use, care, and basic troubleshooting of lab equipment. Maintain a safe, organized, and professional laboratory environment. Communicate effectively with lab instructors and the Program Director regarding student progress, concerns, and lab needs. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Maintains current knowledge of professional practices, standards, and protocols in Sonography. Demonstrates thorough understanding of program goals, student learning outcomes, lab objectives, and evaluation methods. Demonstrates effective, professional, and positive communication with students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Demonstrates organizational skills necessary to manage multiple students, equipment, and lab activities simultaneously. Understands and applies departmental policies, lab procedures, and safety standards. Other Characteristics: Promotes high morale among students by fair and equitable treatment. Promotes and instills the Sonography Code of Ethics. Minimum Education/Experience: Associate degree or two-year technical certificate ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI credential in Sonography. DMS lab instructors must hold both AB and OB credential. Documents the equivalent of one-year full time clinical experience in sonography.
