  • Summary: This is a full-time position. The Job Coach must have reliable transportation, proof of ongoing vehicle liability insurance, submit to ongoing vehicle inspections and have a valid driver’s license with an “F” endorsement to transport individuals. The Job Coach must also be available to work flexible hours as needed. The Job Coach will work to successfully overcome job barriers through transportation assistance and training, and through working with the Employment Specialist, employers, family members, and natural supports. Their responsibilities include providing information on the job assessments to evaluate individual’s skills and abilities. They will perform task analyses and provide direct hands-on training and support in various job settings to familiarize the individual with specific job tasks/demands. This may consist of modeling of various tasks related to occupations in janitorial, restaurant, grocery store, retail, hospital, clerical, assembly, hospitality, operating machinery, collecting recyclable products/recycling express, and a wide variety of other jobs. The Job Coach will fade training gradually as the individual develops a standard of production acceptable to the employer. They must also assist in developing positive relationships and provide a source of awareness to supervisors and coworkers on the productive and positive qualities of people with disabilities. This includes educating the employer and coworkers on supervising, training, communicating and supporting the individual. The Job Coach will assist the Employment Specialist in implementing the pre-employment services of Exploration. The Job Coach will complete the Job Coach lessons in Relias. They will attend training courses and conferences as necessary. The Job Coach must complete all necessary paperwork, demonstrate the production of quality daily notes and progress reports, assist with monthly progress reports, and monthly earning reports that pertain to the requirements of funding entities. Must consistently demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude and take the initiative to further the success of Orange Grove Center and the people we support. Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience: Must have a High School diploma or General Equivalency diploma (GED) with six (6) months or more professional and/or lived experience working with individuals who have disabilities, complex needs or who are aging, where the work involved teaching or supporting skill development related to employment or daily living tasks (experience in an employment setting preferred but not required). Prior Job Coaching experience is preferred. The Job Coach will provide all necessary paperwork to the Employment Department’s Coordinator to maintain accurate status for DDA & ECF requirements prior to delivering employment services.

The coach will also assist the department with the supervision of Small Group Work sites as needed.
