What you'll do and what you will bring: Position Function: This role includes overseeing individualized programming, supporting diverse learning needs, and working collaboratively with colleagues. Duties and Responsibilities

a. Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education programs (IEPs) for K-12 students with identified disabilities ensuring compliance with federal, state and corporation requirements. b. Attends case conferences as Teacher of Record for students with disabilities. c. Models best-practice instructional strategies and provides actionable feedback to Ball State University preservice teachers and graduate students in Learning Center. d. Manages and assists with statewide testing programs for students with disabilities to ensure appropriate accommodations are provided and the assessments are completed in accordance with state regulations. e. Creates engaging, effective lesson and unit plans aligned to current Indiana Standards that drive instruction and include prior assessment data, objectives, allocating an instructionally appropriate amount of time, designing meaningful and relevant assignments, and assessments created before the unit for backwards planning. f. Demonstrates differentiated instruction to provide an effective classroom program and meet the needs of individual students. This includes team teaching in an inclusive environment. g. Assesses student progress toward learning targets, objectives, expectations and goals to provide feedback to students, parents, and administrators and guide future classroom instruction. h. Monitors students in a variety of educational settings (e.g. classroom, playground, hallways, restrooms, field trips, etc.) to provide a safe, secure and positive learning environment. i. Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, faculty and staff by communicating in a professional, courteous and confidential manner and adhering to Burris Laboratory School's social media policy. j. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth and attends and participates in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, extra-curricular activities and committees. k. Reports incidents (e.g. suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, harassment, zero tolerance offenses, etc.) to administrators to maintain the personal safety of students and provide a positive learning environment that adheres to state law and Ball State University policies. l. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university by date of appointment; hold or demonstrate eligibility for Indiana certification in special education by date of employment. Preferred
