- This teacher will plan engaging lessons, build strong relationships with students and families, and support the mission and values of the school or parish.Job Responsibilities Faith Formation & Catholic Identity
Model and promote Catholic values, prayer, and moral development in the classroom. Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and faith-based activities appropriate for preschool children. Collaborate with families to support each child’s faith formation.
Instruction & Curriculum
Plan and implement daily lessons that support early literacy, numeracy, science, art, social-emotional development, and faith formation. Use play-based, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate activities to encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, interests, and learning styles of each child. Observe, document, and assess student progress to guide instruction and provide feedback to families.
Classroom Environment & Management
Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that promotes independence, cooperation, and respect. Establish clear routines and positive behavior expectations grounded in Christian values. Maintain accurate records of student learning, attendance, and developmental progress.
Collaboration & Professionalism
Work closely with assistant teachers, preschool colleagues, and administration to ensure a cohesive and effective early childhood program. Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, newsletters, and daily interactions.
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide activities.Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- State teaching certification and/or diocesan certification preferred.
- Experience teaching or working with preschool-aged children.
- Practicing Catholic preferred; commitment to modeling and supporting Catholic values required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Creativity, patience, and a passion for fostering the growth of young children.
- Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and required background checks.
