Position overview

Achievers Early College Prep is seeking a highly qualified, mission-aligned High School English Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that prepares students for college-level reading, writing, and critical thinking.

Key responsibilities

  • Instruction & curriculum
  • Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned ELA instruction aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards
  • Design lessons that emphasize close reading of complex texts, academic writing, critical analysis, and discussion
  • Implement instructional strategies that support diverse learners, including English language learners and students with IEPs
  • Integrate culturally responsive and inclusive texts that reflect students’ identities and experiences
  • Student achievement & assessment
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction
  • Analyze student work and data regularly to adjust instruction and provide targeted interventions
  • Maintain high academic expectations and support students in meeting college-readiness benchmarks
  • Classroom culture & management
  • Create a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
  • Establish clear expectations for behavior, participation, and academic integrity
  • Foster positive student relationships and a strong culture of accountability and belonging
  • Collaboration & professional growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues, instructional leaders, and support staff to improve teaching and learning

  • Required qualifications
