About the role

  • Middle School Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and development of Achiever’s curriculum and the success of its students. Therefore, Achievers Early College Prep seeks middle school teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level team. Teachers will have and be able to do the following:
  • Expert in content knowledge in Health and PE including flexibility to incorporate non-traditional content such as Yoga. Mindfulness etc
  • Able to create videos for virtual PE instruction (grades 6, 7 and 8)
  • Able to post videos and check in with students during advisory
  • Able to cover classes as needed
  • Flexibility with regard to assignment/re-assignment; i.e. ability to teach small group enrichment classes and offer tutoring support
  • Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
  • Will be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum of (2) years teaching experience in an effective public charter or public school setting
  • Quantifiable track record of outstanding academic results
  • Valid State Certification (CE, CEAS, Standard)

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and a valid New Jersey State Certification. A minimum of two years of teaching experience in a public or charter school setting is required.
