Position Summary
A Lunch Monitor is responsible for the supervision of students during lunch and recess, with additional roles supervising students during naptime, classroom transitions, arrival and departure, as needed. It is the role of a Lunch Monitor to ensure that all students are safe, secure, and properly supervised at all times. This position requires the ability to communicate kindly and professionally, and to support the core values, vision, and mission of Rochambeau.
- REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Please note that these are intended as representative duties and do not encompass every aspect of the role. You may be required to perform additional or differing duties if they are related, similar, or logically assigned to the position.
- Assist in lunchroom arrival and dismissal in an orderly manner at the scheduled time
- Manage students during meal period (behavior problems will be referred to the school director or designee)
- Circulate throughout the lunchroom or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students who need assistance
- Help students develop and observe proper meal habits and etiquette
- Assists with the cleanliness of the lunchroom, including sanitizing lunch tables, chairs and floors after meal periods
- Respond to emergency situations such as injuries or food allergies, and report accidents, events, and/or other incidents to the School Director or designee
- Participate in training sessions, meetings, and scheduled cleaning days as requested.

Requirements
- Ability to interact and communicate with students and staff members in a respectful, efficient, effective, and cooperative manner
- French language proficiency required; bilingual French/English preferred
- Demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork and the ability to adapt to any situation
- Reliable attendance at work and flexible availability for assignments
- Demonstrate a commitment to Rochambeau's vision, mission, values, and strategic aims

- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship is not offered for this role)
Physical demands
This position operates in a school environment. The role requires prolonged periods of walking, bending, and standing, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment up to 25 pounds.
