The Field Supervisor mentors, coaches, and evaluates teacher candidates during their practicums in PK-12 schools. They serve as a liaison between the university and school sites while providing guidance on curriculum, instruction, and professional development.
Candidates must hold a current teaching license with relevant endorsements and demonstrate a maturing Christian faith. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide meaningful feedback to aspiring educators are essential.
School of Education Field Supervisor for Elementary, Secondary, Specialty Endorsement areas (e.g. PE, SPED, ESOL, Reading Intervention), and School Counseling
The successful candidate for this position must show commitment and have experience as an excellent teacher or school counselor. The person in this position will mentor, coach, and evaluate teacher candidates who are engaged in practicums held within PK-12 schools. The supervisor will serve as a liaison between the university and cooperating teacher / mentor counselor and candidate, ensuring that requirements of respective clinical experiences are successfully communicated, completed, and submitted. Bushnell Field Supervisors will also participate in informational meetings on campus 3-4 times annually. Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the desire to support the mission of Bushnell University are paramount in this position. The position requires a strong commitment to multiculturalism and diversity and the ability to work well in a team environment and to provide meaningful feedback, guidance, and support to aspiring educators.
