A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a preferred group fitness certification and at least one year of teaching experience. Candidates should be able to motivate individuals and have experience with diverse populations.

Our Active Older Adults Group Fitness Program is designed to keep our members moving, laughing, and living their best, healthiest lives. We’re looking for a compassionate, energetic Group Fitness Instructor who loves working with older adults and can bring enthusiasm, safety, and connection to every class.
As an Active Older Adults Group Instructor, you’ll guide members through fun, low-impact workouts that build strength, flexibility, balance, and confidence. More than just exercise, your classes will be a place where friendships form, smiles are shared, and everyone feels valued and capable; no matter their fitness level.

Instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Accepts and demonstrates the Ys values. Demonstrates a desire to serve others and fulfill community needs. Recruits volunteers and builds effective, supportive working relationships with them. Supports fund-raising.

Accurately assesses personal feelings, strengths and limitations and how they impact relationships.
