Job description
WIHD is seeking a part-time Dentist to work in our clinic and on our mobile dental van 2-3 days per week. Looking for courteous and organized individual who enjoys work as part of a treatment team. Candidates must be interested in working with the special needs population and ideally be available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays to work, but not required.
The WIHD Dental Center offers a complete range of specialized dental services and ongoing care for people with disabilities. Our comprehensive program is designed to create a “dental home” ensuring quality and continuity of care for both adults and children. These services are delivered in our state-of-the-art dental suite at WIHD; in our Dental Van, which regularly visits community services agencies throughout the Hudson Valley Region; and at the Westchester Medical Center. WIHD's dental mobile van has two fully equipped dental operatories and serves both the lower- and upper-Hudson Valley areas.
Responsibilities
- Include:
- Performs semi-annual dental services, including: oral clinical examination; dental x-rays, if needed; dental prophylaxis;
- Provide dental operative and prosthodontic treatment as needed, including: amalgam and composite fillings, crowns, removable partials or complete dentures, as needed;
- Perform Periodontal debridement, scaling and root planning as needed;
- Student Training which consists of student observation of behavior management, dental procedures and student assisting when appropriate and circumstances allow.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the New York State Education Department in dentistry;
- 1 - 2 years of private or hospital dental practice, or a graduate of an accredited 1 year general practice residency program.
