The adjunct instructor is responsible for teaching Criminal Justice courses using both traditional and alternative delivery methods. They report to the Division Chair of Social Sciences and Business and must be available on an as-needed basis.
This position requires one of the following: Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or Behavioral Science with a focus in Criminal Justice or Criminology Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or Behavioral Science with a focus in Criminal Justice or Criminology Must be eligible to obtain the instructor’s certification from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) Minimum of three years of experience as a Texas peace officer; Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met Desirable Qualifications: Teaching experience in a Criminal Justice program at the community college level will be a plus Bilingual language skills preferred
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Criminal Justice or Behavioral Science and be eligible for TCLEOSE certification. A minimum of three years of experience as a Texas peace officer is required.
