Job description

  • Perform work within the University’s Human Capital Management system to administer employee personnel actions, maintain employee personnel records, compensation/classification data and administer the employment function from position request to onboarding in the human resources department.
  • Support the hiring, onboarding, employment, and personnel record keeping process by assuring compliance with federal, state, local, university regulation/policy and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Essential Functions: 50% Use the University's Human Capital Management system to utilize the online recruiting application, manage business processes including the administration of the hiring process, accurately enter and audit employee personnel actions, personnel and job data information, and meet payroll deadlines.
  • Responsible for the management of the staff employment process from job requisition through onboarding.
  • 25% Solve problems, respond to inquiries and information requests, and perform troubleshooting duties in relation to employee personnel actions, job requisitions, and the hiring process.
  • Perform analysis and ensure accuracy in the management and approval of the employment workflow process.
  • Respond to user needs and applicant inquiries regarding the application and search process.
  • Serve as the first line of support through Workday Help to respond to general HR-related inquiries.
  • Communicate daily with the campus community as well as external organizations.
  • 20% Assist departments with the administration of reference/background investigations on selected applicants.
  • Coordinate communication between candidates and extend job offers.
  • Negotiate job offer details if needed.
  • Advise departments when job offers are accepted.
  • Initiate and complete the employment and onboarding process.

Position Information

Education: 18 months of education or training beyond high school required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Required Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of work experience working with a data management system and general office procedures preferably within a human resources environment. Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in work. Excellent communication, customer service, analytical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills. Ability to meet strict deadlines and strong attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Compensation

  • The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience. The hourly rate for this position is $20.49.
