- Date: August 2026 Maclay School seeks a dedicated, student-centered Lower School Teaching Assistant to support our classrooms and youngest learners. Key Responsibilities Partner closely with the lead teacher to support daily instruction and classroom routines Provide small group and individual support to reinforce academic concepts Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials and activities Support classroom management by helping maintain clear, consistent expectations Supervise students during transitions, recess, and lunch, ensuring a safe and positive environment Foster students’ social and emotional development through encouragement, modeling, and relationship-building Contribute to a collaborative, respectful classroom culture Assist with additional responsibilities as needed to support the classroom and school QualificationsQualifications Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred) Experience working with children, ideally in a school setting Strong communication and collaboration skills Positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work Demonstrated reliability and professionalism A genuine love for children and a desire to support their growth Physical Requirements and ADA Statement This role requires regular movement between classrooms and buildings, active engagement in classroom instruction, and the ability to navigate indoor and outdoor school environments. The position also requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate clearly, operate standard classroom technology, and occasionally lift materials up to 20–30 pounds.
