POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for providing proper guidance to students to ensure positive group living relations and achievement in the Job Corps program.

  • Counselors / 3:30pm-6:00pm with dorm and recreation staff) RATE OF PAY $20.19 per hour RESPONSIBILITIES o Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in training classrooms and the dormitory which will assist them in accomplishing their goals and objectives. o Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to counselor. o Assist in unit activities o Help prepare the daily operations report, pass list, and other administrative correspondence relating to students. o Direct students and assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory. o Enter student case notes in the center information system. o Participate in career development services system by ensuring a safe living environment and creating positive peer leadership role modeling techniques within the dorm. o Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions and independent living skills. o Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers. o Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy. o Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions. o Other duties as assigned. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Must be 21 years or older to apply High School Diploma or equivalent required Must be enrolled in a Psychology, Human Services, Adolescent Behavior or related two or four-year program - must be prepared to submit an electronic transcript A valid in-State Driver’s License preferred Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.
