Job Overview
To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary school classroom that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Responsibilities

- Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities.
- Create a positive educational climate for students..
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
- Create standard based lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year. Upload lesson plans to Atlas.
- Maintain grade books in Power School that are updated regularly.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by implementing approved disciplinary procedures.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Assist with coverage of other classes as needed.
- Assist with arrivals and dismissal of students.
- Communicate with parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with other colleagues.
- Selects books, instructional aids and supplies that aid in the teaching of the curriculum.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification - completed or in progress.
- Communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Federal, state, and child abuse background checks required.
