Job Overview
To plan, organize, and implement a grade level appropriate instructional program in an elementary math classroom that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Responsibilities
- and Duties:
- Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities.
- Create a positive educational climate for students.
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
- Create standard based lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
- Maintain grade books in Power School that are updated regularly.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Assist with arrivals and dismissal of students.
- Assist with coverage of other classes as needed.
- Communicate with parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with other colleagues.
- Selects books, instructional aids and supplies that aid in the teaching of the curriculum.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, Principal or his/her designee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- One or more years of teaching experience.
- Communication skills and interpersonal skills preferred.
- PA Certification.
