In this role, you’ll do more than teach music—you’ll inspire, mentor, and walk alongside students as they grow academically, creatively, and spiritually. As a teacher in our school, you’ll serve in a role of care and leadership during the school day, modeling Christ-centered attitudes, words, and actions both in and out of the classroom. Your influence will help shape students into confident, compassionate, and responsible individuals who seek to honor God in all they do. What You’ll Do Lead and grow a vibrant elementary instrumental band program Teach engaging, well-planned lessons aligned with curriculum goals Create a positive, structured classroom environment where students can thrive Inspire students to do their best work while nurturing their unique abilities and interests Use a variety of creative teaching methods to support the whole child—spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical Regularly assess student progress and keep parents informed Build strong, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues Collaborate with staff and communicate openly with administration Participate in school life, including meetings, events, and extracurricular activities Supervise students throughout the day, ensuring a safe and caring environment Who You Are A committed Christian who models faith authentically in everyday life A skilled and enthusiastic music educator who loves working with elementary students Organized, flexible, and proactive in planning and communication A team player who values collaboration and maintains a teachable spirit Comfortable integrating technology and diverse teaching tools into the classroom What to Expect This is an active, hands-on role. You’ll spend your day moving around campus, engaging with students in classrooms, playgrounds, and performance spaces, and occasionally lifting or carrying instruments and materials. Believe that the Bible is Gods Word and is authoritative on all matters of which it speaks. 3. Model Christian beliefs, thoughts, and actions toward others including a commitment to Gods Biblical standards for sexual conduct.
  • Luke 6:40. 4. Endorse and comport with the CUSSD Articles of Faith, & Staff Code of Ethics. 5. Place Christ and His Word at the center of knowledge and learning. 6. Possess spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to train up a child in the way he should go. 7. Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. 8. Possess or will possess within the first year of CUSSD employment an ACSI temporary teacher certification. 9. Retain state-issued teacher credentials, or 10. Possess or will possess within five years of CUSSD employment commencement a current valid state-issued teaching credential. 11. Exceptional oral and written communication.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and be committed Christians who can model faith authentically. Applicants are expected to hold or obtain ACSI temporary teacher certification and state-issued teaching credentials.
