The counselor is responsible for supervising children, planning and leading daily group activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. They must maintain a positive environment, manage attendance, and report any incidents to the program director.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old with a high school diploma or GED and a genuine interest in working with children. Certification in CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid is required, though training can be provided by the YMCA.
