About the Job
Program Assistants play a crucial role in supporting after-school enrichment programs, including the Afterschool (k-5) and Teen Programs (6-12). Collaborating with the Resident Engagement Specialist on site, the Program Assistant will assist in the implementation of educational and recreational activities for children, youth, and parents in a multifamily apartment community.
00-8:00 pm 2 days a week and 2;00-6:00 pm twice a week (Monday-Thursday; ) and admin hours on Fridays during the APS academic year, on early release days program will start at 12pm. This position is full time for 6 weeks in the summer during summer camp.
Planning and Implementing Programs
1. Assistsin planning andpreparing materials foreducational and recreational activities for children, youth, and parents.
1. Provides a healthy snack for children in the Afterschool Program.
2. Assists students with homework and to complete educational activities.
3. Oversees after-school activities for elementary and teen students. - taking the lead when other site staff are sick or on vacation
4. Maintains good discipline by supporting a behavior management program.
