The Humanities Teacher will design and deliver inclusive, culturally responsive lessons that foster critical thinking and analytical skills in alignment with the International Baccalaureate curriculum. They are also responsible for building strong partnerships with caregivers and collaborating with instructional teams to support student growth.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and possess prior teaching experience. Additionally, applicants must be in the process of earning or already hold a New York Teaching License Certification.
Prospect Schools is seeking a Middle School Humanities Teacher to design engaging, inclusive lessons that cultivate students' critical thinking, analytical reading and writing, and a lifelong appreciation for history and diverse perspectives. This position is located at our Sunset Yards Middle School. Prospect teachers are grounded in an equity-driven approach following the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum where instruction emphasizes academic rigor, critical thinking, global mindedness, and inclusive classroom practices. As an educator at Prospect, you will be part of a collaborative and high-performing instructional team and will report directly to a member of the school leadership team.
Duties: & Responsibilities:
The salary range for this role starts at $63,960, then increases based on years of experience. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role.
