Who We Are

  • Prospect Schools is a high-performing, intentionally diverse K-12 college preparatory charter network serving nearly 3,000 students across seven schools in Brooklyn. We are a growing organization and expanding our network across Brooklyn from 6 to 9 schools in the coming academic year. The Opportunity

Prospect Schools is seeking a K-8 Reading Learning Specialist to provide engaging, inclusive literacy instruction and targeted support that helps students strengthen their reading skills, build confidence, develop critical thinking abilities, and foster a lifelong love of learning. Prospect teachers are grounded in an equity-driven approach following the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum where instruction emphasizes academic rigor, critical thinking, global mindedness, and inclusive classroom practices. As an educator at Prospect, you will be part of a collaborative and high-performing instructional team and will report directly to a member of the school leadership team.

Duties: & Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Instruction
  • Design and deliver culturally responsive, engaging lessons that support learning in an intentionally diverse classroom and actively engage a variety of different learning styles
  • Teach 2 sections of a MS Reading Enrichment class that will meet daily and the equivalent of 2-3 sections of ES literacy support a day, working with small groups of students .
  • Utilize data, strong content knowledge, and effective pedagogy to plan clear, objective-driven instruction to advance learning for all students

    About You

    • You have earned a Bachelors Degree.
    • You have prior teaching experience.

    Salary

    The salary range for this role starts at $63,960-$106,995, then increases based on years of experience. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. At Prospect Schools we remain committed to providing competitive salaries.
