Mandarin Teacher - Part Time

• Position Overview Wellan Montessori School is seeking an experienced Mandarin Teacher to join its faculty for the 2026–2027 school year.
• This is a part-time position (4 hours per week) designed to pilot a new Mandarin program, with the opportunity for gradual growth over the next several years as the program develops and expands.
• The Mandarin Teacher will be responsible for launching and teaching Mandarin to students in Grades 6–8 using both a textbook and a wide range of interactive, engaging activities that support increasing language proficiency and cultural appreciation.
• Candidates should have experience teaching Mandarin in Grades 6–8 and bring strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills to the role.
• They should be flexible, collaborative, and able to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• The ideal candidate will have a passion for Mandarin language and culture and will inspire students to grow in confidence and curiosity as they develop their language skills.

Position Details: Part-time, 4 hours per week Regular Hours: 2 days a week, TBD

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or beyond in related field. Experience teaching children ages 11-14 (Grades 6–8). Heritage speaker a plus. Minimum of 3 professional references required.
