Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and teach five sections of Spanish, likely with two preps, which may include advanced placement and dual credit ocurses, pending certification. Collaborate with department and school colleagues in the ongoing curriculum design and review process. Communicate regularyly with students, parents, school counselors, and administrators about student progress. Participate actively in the school's co-curricular and spiritual activities

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field (Master’s preferred) Previous Spanish teaching experience. Experience with teaching for language acquisition and proficiency or desire to join the shared department goal of teaching for proficiency. Clear understanding of and commitment to Rockhurst High School's mission, Student-focused approach to learning, which includes a desire to build positive relationships that are characterized by mutual respect and trust. Strong understanding of current educational theory and practice. Ability to incorporate a range of instructional approaches, including discussion-based, project-based, and inquiry-based approaches. Experience with a range of educational technologies. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom and building. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally Sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to use computers, phones, and office equipment and to participate in meetings and student interactions, Ability to communicate clearly in person, in writing, and in group presentations. Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for school events, student or parents programs.
