The Paraeducator will support classroom operations by assisting teaching staff in implementing activities that foster the social, emotional, and intellectual growth of children aged 0-3. They will also provide support for children with special needs and encourage active parent engagement in the educational process.
Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate classroom activities that support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Support daily operations by preparing materials, maintaining records, and ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment. Collaborate with teaching staff to observe, document, and assess child progress; assist in implementing individualized learning goals. Encourage parent engagement by supporting family-friendly environments and participating in educational activities and home visits. Foster inclusion by supporting children with diverse needs and promoting practices that reflect cultural, linguistic, and individual differences.
6+ months’ experience as a student intern, tutor, or instructional assistant working in an educational setting with pre-elementary school children is strongly preferred 12+ ECE/CHDV units strongly preferred High school diploma preferred California Teaching Commission Child Development Associate Teacher permit preferred If no permit is held, a professional development plan will be put in place to ensure the pathway to obtain the permit.
