Behavioral Support Staff / Inclusion Specialist
Part-Time | Monday–Friday, 3: 00 PM – 5:00 PM
Position Summary
The Behavioral Support Staff / Inclusion Specialist plays a key role in supporting children with behavioral, social-emotional, or developmental needs within a safe, inclusive afterschool environment. This position partners with program staff and families to ensure all children are supported and able to fully participate in program activities.
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support using strengths-based, trauma-informed approaches
- Implement behavior support strategies and assist with individualized plans
- Maintain a safe environment through active supervision and attentive transitions
- Communicate regularly with staff and leadership regarding student progress and needs
- Document and report incidents in accordance with EEC and YMCA policies
- Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program events
- Support overall program operations as needed
Qualifications
- Must be at least 20 years of age
- Experience working with youth required; experience with behavioral or developmental support preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management, trauma-informed care, or inclusive practices a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm, flexible, and responsive in a dynamic environment
- CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively engage with and supervise children in indoor and outdoor settings
- Ability to meet the physical demands of a youth program environment
Requirements
- Ability to work the scheduled hours (Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
- Completion of EEC and YMCA required trainings within designated timeframes
- Documentation of physical exam and immunizations as required by EEC
- Verification of education and experience
