Behavioral Support Staff / Inclusion Specialist

Part-Time | Monday–Friday, 3: 00 PM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Behavioral Support Staff / Inclusion Specialist plays a key role in supporting children with behavioral, social-emotional, or developmental needs within a safe, inclusive afterschool environment. This position partners with program staff and families to ensure all children are supported and able to fully participate in program activities.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support using strengths-based, trauma-informed approaches
  • Implement behavior support strategies and assist with individualized plans
  • Maintain a safe environment through active supervision and attentive transitions
  • Communicate regularly with staff and leadership regarding student progress and needs
  • Document and report incidents in accordance with EEC and YMCA policies
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program events
  • Support overall program operations as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Experience working with youth required; experience with behavioral or developmental support preferred
  • Knowledge of behavior management, trauma-informed care, or inclusive practices a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and responsive in a dynamic environment
  • CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to actively engage with and supervise children in indoor and outdoor settings
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of a youth program environment

Requirements

  • Ability to work the scheduled hours (Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
  • Completion of EEC and YMCA required trainings within designated timeframes
  • Documentation of physical exam and immunizations as required by EEC
  • Verification of education and experience
