Job description
Kendal at Hanover is looking to add multiple substitutes to our Early Learning Center team! This position is considered per diem and therefore, not eligible for benefits.
Substitute Teachers assist in the daily operation and coordination of Kendal at Hanover Child Care Center. They provide children ranging in ages of six weeks to six years old with a learning environment and experiences to help develop socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
- Interacts with children in a warm, friendly and affectionate manner
- Bends low for child level interactions
- Uses modulated tone and appropriate language with children
- Understands and uses positive guidance to reinforce positive behavior
- Responds to behaviors in a calm, sensitive, and supportive fashion
- Has meaningful conversations and interactions with child, family and coworkers
- Assist Children as they explore their environment, interactions and self-help skills
- Assures children's basic need are met on a daily basis
- Provide Primary Care for assigned children, including observations, records, portfolios and individual education plans
- Adheres to established rules and regulations and policies and procedures
- Completes daily tasks including health, safety, cleanliness, and documentation as assigned
- Maintains equipment, materials and facilities both indoors and outdoors
- Develops and maintains a collaborative relationship with peers and interdisciplinary team members
- Responds to all communications in a respectful and professional manner as evidenced by appropriate facial expressions, tone of voice, and body
- Pursues and achieves professional growth, reads relevant materials and attends seminars and attends staff meetings and by taking on new challenges
- Demonstrates dedication as a professional by seeking ways to improve
