The Lead Teacher plans and implements engaging STEAM, fitness, and academic activities for Pre-k students. They are also responsible for program compliance, operational management, and maintaining communication with parents via the Playground App.
Candidates must have an Associate's degree in Early Childhood, a CDA credential with 1 year of experience, or 9 credits in a related field with 2 years of experience. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and medical clearance are also required.
Description Healthy Kids Programs is looking for someone energetic and passionate about working with kids to join the team as a Lead Teacher for our Before and After School Pre-k Program for the 2025-2026 school year.
Part time, non-exempt LOCATION: Uriah Hill Elementary School in Peekskill, NY PAY: $17.00 per hour HOURS: 7:00 - 8:30 am and 2:15 - 6:00 pm
Employer-Paid Childcare Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 3–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. Employer contributions cover the cost of care, so you can focus on your job while your child participates in a safe, structured, and engaging program, all without needing to arrange outside care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Candidates must meet one of the following: Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field. Child Development Associate Credential or another Office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period (with 1 year of experience). 9 Credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field with a plan of study leading to Associates or other Office recognized credential (with 2 years of experience).
Must be medically cleared to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB). Demonstrates a positive, friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with children, parents, and team members. Dependable, punctual, and professional in conduct and appearance. Able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, and meet the physical demands of working with children.
