Job description

  • Rome Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN to lead our Infection Prevention program, provide staff education, and support wound care management.
  • This role is ideal for a proactive nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to improving resident care.
  • Key Responsibilities: Lead infection prevention initiatives, including surveillance, reporting, and education, following CDC and NYSDOH protocols.
  • Serve as the facility's Antibiotic Stewardship Champion.
  • Design, coordinate, and deliver staff education and continuing education programs.
  • Support wound care management and participate in weekly wound rounds.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve quality of care and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide guidance to staff, mentor new employees, and support competency assessments.

Qualifications

Current RN license in New York State. Completion of CDC Nursing Home Infection Prevention training. Minimum 1 year of nursing home experience, including 6 months charge experience. BSN preferred. Strong knowledge of infection prevention, nursing standards of care, and long-term care regulations. Excellent organizational, communication, and teaching skills.
