Dual Teachers are responsible for delivering morning academic lessons in reading, ELA, and Math according to the Summer Advantage program model and creating an engaging afternoon enrichment course based on personal passions. They must also travel on Fridays to support field trips and service-learning projects.
Candidates must possess a valid State Teaching Certification, a required Bachelor's Degree, and previous classroom experience, with a Math and/or Reading endorsement being preferred. Availability is mandatory for the full summer program period, including all pre-program training responsibilities.
As a Summer Advantage Dual Teacher, you are responsible for delivering morning academic lessons in accordance with the Summer Advantage program model as outlined during pre-program professional development. Academic lessons will include two dedicated hours of reading and ELA and an hour dedicated to Math. As an afternoon enrichment teacher, you will be responsible for creating an engaging 5-week enrichment course that stems from your own hobbies and passions and introduces a unique and engaging offering to our summer scholars. On Fridays, Dual Teachers will travel and support Friday field trips, college visits, and service-learning projects.
