Job Status: Full-time

We believe that it is the parent's responsibility to train up a child in the way he/she should go. Our role is to come alongside parents and offer a biblical base for the academic education families are seeking for their children. Our purpose is to partner with parents in growing their children in Christ.

Our goal is to provide our students with a biblically based academic curriculum and to teach our students principles from God's word that they will apply to every aspect of their lives. The aide shall always strive to understand, appreciate, love, and serve alongside the teacher.

  • JOB DUTIES Spiritual Maintain a daily personal devotional life to be prepared spiritually for the demands of each teaching day.
  • Demonstrate, by example, love and obedience to Christ and His word.
  • Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled devotions.
  • Share on an alternating basis in the leading of faculty devotions.
  • Attend an evangelical church and serve in a church ministry as the Lord leads.
  • Planning Oversee and direct the daily operations of the school library.
  • Maintain the school's library management systems, including Destiny/Follett, Renaissance/Accelerated der, or other approved library software.
  • Provide administrative support for the Accelerated Reader program, including student account management and user access.
  • Proofread and evaluate all new books and library materials to ensure alignment with the mission, vision, and biblical values of the school.
  • Organize, catalog, circulate, and maintain library resources and equipment.
  • Monitor library inventory, manage overdue materials, and coordinate replacement or replenishment of lost or damaged items.
  • Request library materials, instructional resources, and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain an attractive, organized, and welcoming library environment that supports learning.

  • Recommend improvements and enhancements to strengthen the school's library program and services.
  • Communication Maintain accurate and complete library and school records.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, faculty, office staff, volunteers, and administration.
  • Clearly communicate compassion and empathy to all students in keeping with the mission of the school.
  • Reflect a Christ-like spirit in all relationships.
  • Follow the Matthew 18 principle when dealing with conflicts and personal problems that arise between individuals.
  • Professional Arrive punctually and attend all duties, programs, and meetings scheduled by administration.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and staff training.
  • Maintain proficiency in library systems, educational technology, and literacy best practices.
  • Supplemental Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
  • Provide input and constructive recommendations regarding library services and school programs.
  • Support the broader program of the school by attending extra-curricular activities when possible.
  • Assist with school events and activities as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
  • Safety Actively support and maintain safety standards, training, and an ongoing safety program, resulting in a safe and healthy work and school environment.
  • Be familiar with the school's fire, earthquake, lockdown, and emergency procedures and assist students whenever needed.
  • Participate in assigned roles within the school's disaster preparedness plan.
  • Comply with requirements to report reasonable suspicion of child abuse.
  • Requirements

    Education One or more of the following: AA degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor's degree preferred) Coursework in Library Science, Education, or a related field preferred Experience and Expertise Demonstrate Christ-like attributes in speech and actions. Demonstrate spiritual maturity, organizational ability, and leadership qualities. Three or more years of experience working in a school environment preferred. Experience working with library management systems preferred. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other educational technology. Ability to organize multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Passion for children's literature and promoting literacy. Clearances Must pass a pre-employment reference and background screen. Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, or kneel. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    Work environment

    The employee is regularly in a typical office environment with adequate light and moderate noise levels.

    Emergencies

    Must be able to quickly summon help when an emergency arises either in the office, classroom, gymnasium, or on the playground.

    Attendance

    In addition to normal work schedule, also required to be present for faculty meetings and other special functions after school, and occasionally for meetings or other functions in the evening.
