Responsibilities
Include: An Educational Specialist provides comprehensive educational services to clients of Child and Family Development, including but not limited to: diagnostic evaluations, educational treatment, consultation, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and community-based advocacy. An educator develops and maintains a broad range of evaluative competencies to assess learning disabilities of the child. They administer national normed achievement measurements including WIAT-4 and WJ-IV as well as scoring, interpretation and report writing. They work with clinical psychologists to develop quality recommendations for children and families. They provide educational therapy services to address concerns related to learning disabilities and executive functioning weaknesses. They provide consultative services and advocate for clients in the community and schools. Master’s degree with experience in special education is required. Competencies with administration of academic achievement measures (WIAT4, WJ-IV) is preferred. Knowledge of public and private school accommodation plans preferred.
