- JOB SUMMARY To serve as a 7th Grade History teacher in fulfillment of GCA’s mission to Lead, Build, and Equip students.

- PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Desirable candidates should have the following background or comparable experience: · Advanced degree preferred · High level of emotional intelligence · Exceptional oral and written communication skills · Experience integrating technology into the curriculum · Ability to engage parents/guardians as partners in the student’s educational experience · A history of continued growth and development as an educator · A history of effective collaboration with colleagues · Desire to interact with students outside of the classroom (e.g. coaching, clubs, etc.) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to: · Give instruction to the students in the curricula area assigned by the Principal · Design teaching material · Create lessons centered around a biblical worldview · Facilitate course discussions on social issues from a biblical lens while acknowledging various denominational differences · Devise lesson plans that follow GCA’s Curriculum and Instruction Standards and Course Maps · Ability to hold students to a clearly articulated standard of performance · Experiment with different teaching methods · Differentiate instruction for students with learning challenges · Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes safe learning · Utilize learning management system for instruction · Update grades and lesson plans on Renweb · Maintain cordial relationships with the home, parent(s)/guardian(s) and community · Keep parent(s)/guardian(s) duly informed of the child’s progress and hold conferences with parent(s)/guardian(s) when necessary · Report to the appropriate authorities when one knows or reasonably suspects that a child’s health or welfare has been or appears to have been harmed as a result of abuse or neglect. · Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment · Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
