The coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in developing game strategies, techniques, and motivating student-athletes. They must manage practice schedules, ensure player eligibility, and model Christian values within the athletic program.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and in-depth knowledge of volleyball, with one year of varsity coaching experience preferred. Required certifications include CPR/First Aid and concussion protocol training.
Position is responsible for assisting the head coach in all aspects of their respective sport including coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition and motivating student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.

Implement the Mission and Vision Statements of Crossroads Christian Church and School, as well as the CCS Athletics MV P Initiative within coaching and leading their respective sport. ? Willingness to attend coaching training if made available. ? Active participation in all athletic meetings. ? Focus on working closely with all school staff by providing any information regarding a player’s behavior change, attitude and/or athletic performance. ? Ensures all players have been cleared by the Athletic Department in respect to school and, if necessary, CIF requirements before participation. ? Assesses players’ skills and assigns team positions. ? Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development. ? Works with the Athletic Director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition in a timely manner. ? Performs expected and reasonable duties assigned by the head coach as necessary ? Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. ? Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior and always provides proper supervision of athletes. ? Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury. ? Follows state, regional, and district/league/school regulations governing the athletic program. ? Models Christ-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. ? Participate in special activities to include parent nights, banquets, award nights, and assemblies. ? Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and other related records. ? Must be able to perform other duties related to coaching such as but not limited to: effective communication with parents and staff; development of a positive working relationship with booster clubs/donors/corporate sponsors. ? Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director, School Director, Athletic Director, or other appropriate administrator.
