Position: Middle School Girls Basketball Coach
Season: Mid-October 2026—February 5th, 2027
Location: Rudolf Steiner School
Compensation: Stipend of $4,500
Rudolf Steiner School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes. This role is ideal for someone who values skill development, teamwork, and creating a positive, empowering environment for young athletes.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate practices
- Teach fundamental basketball skills, game strategy, and teamwork
- Foster confidence, sportsmanship, and a love of the game
- Prepare the team for interscholastic competition
- Supervise student-athletes during practices and games
- Communicate effectively with players, families, and the athletic department
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive team culture
Qualifications
- Previous basketball coaching or playing experience preferred
- Experience working with middle school-aged students
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and connect with student-athletes of varying skill levels
- Commitment to positive coaching and student development
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule
- Practices and games are held on weekdays after school
- Occasional schedule adjustments based on gym availability and league play
