Job description

Position: Assistant Coach

Reports to: Athletic Director

Position type: Seasonal

Position Summary

Assist in developing a sports program Lower through Upper School that encourages student athletes to develop their skills and talents while inspiring them to follow Jesus in all that they do

Qualities + qualifications

Uphold Biblical priorities through a growing personal relationship with Jesus.

Become an active member of FB Concord or be an active member of a local like-minded bible teaching church

Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.

Encompass the qualities and characteristics of Concord staff members as outlined in our Staff Values.

Coaching experience preferred

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a team

1stAid/CPR certification preferred – able to obtain upon hire

Responsibilities: Serve as an assistant coach where needed

As needed provide clear, consistent communication with parents, athletes, teachers and administration

Develop a program that sparks passion for the sport in the athletes and coaches

Work with Athletic Dept to secure gym/field practice time

Assist with or conduct practices in accordance with TSSAA regulations & CCS Athletic Handbook

Maintain current 1st Aid/CPR training

Stay current on changes in sport, in TSSAA rulings and college opportunities for student athletes

Adhere to Athletic Dept, CCS rules and TSSAA regulations on player eligibility

Assist in recruiting parents to participate in game day & team building activities

Work with Varsity Coach to secure equipment, uniforms, funding, etc for team

Participate in CCS events as required or requested by Athletic Director

Working conditions

Typically, a 3-5 day week in a gym, field and/or office environment. Working with various socio-economic groups, ages and nationalities.
