Key Responsibilities. Instruct and work with athletes with guidance from the head coach to prepare them for competition The assistant coach role is responsible for assisting the head coach in all phases of the sport program that include player development, team strategy and more Demonstrate leadership by implementing of expectations and direction of the program Preparation of team for competition Attend all practices and games Assist with set up and take down of equipment for practices and games Complete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire date Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace Perform other duties as assigned Position Requirements: Prefer a college degree but requires at least a high school diploma or GED Previous high school or middle school coaching experience preferred Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals Commitment to fostering a positive and all-encompassing team environment Complete all required coaching training prior to the start of each sport season Loyalty to the mission and vision of the school and ACACS Commitment to model moral character in line with the school's core virtues Adherence to all ACACS policies, including but not limited to the Athletic Handbook, Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to traverse the sports complex, field, or court Mandatory Background Checks: In alignment with our commitment to student safety, all candidates are required to undergo a comprehensive fingerprint background check.
