- United Health Services is seeking a (UHS) Nurse Educator, Perioperative Services (Peri-Op) to support clinical excellence and professional development across our surgical services team.
- This role is essential in ensuring high-quality patient care through the education, onboarding, and ongoing development of nursing staff.
- The Nurse Educator provides educational experiences that promote competent nursing practice and high-quality patient outcomes within the perioperative setting.
- This role facilitates orientation for new nursing employees and supports their successful transition into specialized perioperative roles.
- The Nurse Educator also partners with clinical leadership to advance staff competency, professional growth, and evidence-based practice.

Operating Room, UHS Wilson Medical Center Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience ----- Essential Functions: Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that are performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Assesses general learning needs for nursing personnel related to new employee orientation, regulatory requirements, clinical skill, technical skill, equipment, and professional development. Identifies the general purpose and educational objectives for each learning activity. Identifies and collaborates with content experts to develop activities to facilitate learners’ achievement of the educational objectives. Designs, coordinates, and provides education to meet identified learning needs. Evaluates the effectiveness of all educational activities including content, faculty, learner participation and relevant outcomes. Revises ongoing education plans as warranted by evaluation or changes in practice, regulation and/or technology. Leads or participates in programs and/or projects assigned to the Nursing Education and Professional Practice Department (i.e., Clinical Ladder Program, NYS Department of Health Plan of Correction, CPR Instructor and Basic Education, Affiliating Schools of Nursing, Clinical Systems projects, Graduate Nurse Mentoring, etc.). Assures the collection and maintenance of relevant records for educational activities and other assigned duties. Non-Essential Functions: Duties the employee may perform that are not essential as defined in the job description. Serves on councils and/or committees to develop policy and implement change as well as improve nursing practice. Advises nursing personnel as an education consultant when requested. Participates in nursing research projects when requested. Will perform other duties as assigned.
