Job description

  • Fork Union Military Academy, an all-boys boarding school located in the beautiful central Virginia region near Charlottesville, Richmond, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, is seeking a dedicated PRN professional for our infirmary department.
  • Fork Union Military Academy is seeking a PRN School Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to our cadets.
  • This part time position requires excellent assessment skills, good communication, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.
  • Care coordination with medical professionals, school faculty and staff, and the families of cadets is an essential part of this job.
  • At a minimum, the PRN nurse will cover two 24-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts per month while school is in session.
  • The PRN nurse will also be used for the following: Additional help at check-ins Shift coverage when a nurse is sick Shift coverage when a nurse takes PTO The qualified candidate should possess a valid Virginia nursing license (BSN preferred) and current CPR certification.
  • At least 5 years recent primary care, medical-surgical, ER, ICU/Trauma experience preferred.
