Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and implement learning opportunities for children to build and strengthen brain development as well as communication, social, and gross and fine motor skills. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Build and maintain positive relationships with families. Partner with families to support the individual developmental needs and stages of each child. Manage student behavior through developmentally appropriate classroom management procedures. Track students daily schedules, personalized feeding schedules based on parental specifications, and nutritional needs in conjunction with the developmental stages of each child. Collaborate and maintain healthy relationships with families to specifically assist with parenting skills and parental involvement. Reinforce lessons taught with one-on-one and small group instruction. Communicate with parents about their child’s interests and progress. Encourage students as they learn, socialize, and adjust to the school environment. Collaborate with colleagues across Foundations. Attend and contribute in full, divisional, and team faculty meetings. Take an active role in professional activities and attend relevant professional meetings and conferences. Stay abreast of the latest advances in early childhood education. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional school environment. Prolonged periods of standing and walking and frequent bending. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Must be able to use hands, reach with arms, kneel, stoop, crouch, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Position Type: This is a twelve-month position.Qualifications Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or bachelor’s degree required. A minimum of three years of experience working with students required. CPR certification required. Extensive knowledge of early childhood development principles and developmentally appropriate educational practices. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate curriculum. Represent the school in the larger community in a positive manner that reflects that values of the school. Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with students, parents/guardians, faculty, and administrators. Professional written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. High degree of cultural competency and demonstrated commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in Google Suite required.
