Language Arts Instructor

• We are currently looking for candidates with a wide range of availability to substitute our classes in the afternoons/evenings Monday-Friday, as well as our classes on Saturday and Sunday.
• We are continually opening new classes, so there will be an opportunity to be assigned to a class once one becomes available.

Skills and experience requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in education or a humanities field is strongly preferred.
• Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students.
• Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.

Not Required

• A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.

Schedule

• AoPS Academy is an afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.
• We are currently looking for someone who can specifically sub for week day classes at 4:30pm.
• This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
• Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes.
