Position Summary
The Foreign Language Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that promotes language acquisition, cultural understanding, and student confidence in communication. Essential Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with New York State learning standards Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in the target language Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs Assess student progress and maintain accurate records Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Participate in school meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives Incorporate cultural studies and real-world applications into instruction Maintain classroom discipline and uphold school expectations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Education or related field required Valid New York State teaching certification in the appropriate foreign language preferred Prior teaching experience preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to equity, collaboration, and student-centered instruction Preferred Languages Applicants with experience teaching Spanish, French, Arabic, or other world languages are encouraged to apply.
