Speech Therapist Assistant (SLPA)

Service Areas: Harlingen, La Feria, Mercedes, Edcouch-Elsa, Weslaco, Donna

Schedule: Morning & Afterschoolers

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide speech therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. The SLPA will assist in assessment, treatment implementation, and development of individualized therapy programs while delivering high-quality care to residents and students in the community.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide speech therapy services to clients under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in accordance with state regulations.
  • Assist in the evaluation process as directed by the supervising Speech Therapist.
  • Support the development of problem lists, short-term goals, long-term goals, and treatment plans.
  • Monitor client response to interventions and consult with the Speech Therapist regarding necessary modifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with department standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Record billable treatment times per department procedures.
  • Provide therapy services in alignment with established standards of practice and productivity requirements.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance programs as required.
  • Maintain ongoing continuing education and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
