- A student must meet the eligibility requirements to be considered for a student employee position.
- Eligibility requirements can be found at http://www.oakton.edu/studentservices/career_services/student_employee/ Specific Skills/Aptitudes: Nominees must be Oakton student employees, have completed three months full-time or six months part-time employment during June of the prior year through May of the current year, and must be in good academic standing.
- Nominees will be judged on the following characteristics: reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and the uniqueness of the student's contribution to the employer.

- Eligibility for Student Employment A student is eligible to work as a student employee if: He or she meets the enrollment requirement.
- The student can show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- At time of hire the student has a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or first semester enrolled at Oakton.
- He or she is making satisfactory progress toward achieving their educational goals.
- Satisfactory progress mirrors Oakton's SOAP policy.
