Position Title

Temporary Assistant Athletic Trainer Compensation: $50.00 per hour Department: Intercollegiate Athletics Ops - Temp Start Date: 04/06/2026 About this opportunity: Join the Ball State University Athletic Department as a Temporary Assistant Athletic Trainer. Qualifying candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Description: Perform duties as assigned with the health care program and as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer.

Duties & Responsibilities

Make recommendations for the coordination the day-to-day operations of the health care program for Intercollegiate Athletics. Serve as the athletic trainer and have direct supervision for one or more sports, as necessary on a daily basis, as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Evaluate injuries and make physician referral decisions for assigned sports. Design and implement, in coordination with the team physician, all rehabilitation and therapeutic programs for assigned sports. Work in conjunction with other members of the athletic training staff, to supervise the athletic training graduate assistants; supervise students in the athletic training major. Direct all communication between the athlete, athletic training room staff, team physicians, and coaching staff for the assigned sports. Coordinate with the Strength and Conditioning Coach regarding programs for injured and rehabilitating athletes. Show commitment to and responsibility for, adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference and the NCAA. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by date of appointment. Must be National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC) certified and hold, or be eligible for, an Indiana Athletic Trainer State License.
