  • Duties: Knowledge to provide up-to-date and accurate nutrition education and breastfeeding support to clients. Provide individual and group breastfeeding education and support to WIC clients in person, by phone, or virtually. Assist in marketing and distributing breastfeeding education materials to clients and community partners. Recruit eligible clients and accept referrals into the WIC Program. Offer culturally sensitive support and guidance based on personal breastfeeding experience. Demonstrate proper breastfeeding techniques and use of breastfeeding equipment (including multiple types of breast pumps). Assist clients in setting up, operating, and cleaning breast pumps. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, client interactions, and referrals. Coordinate with hospitals, clinics, and community agencies to promote breastfeeding and support continuity of care. Participate in community outreach efforts to raise awareness of WIC breastfeeding services. Collaborate with WIC staff and other maternal-child health programs to support breastfeeding initiatives. Attend required breastfeeding and peer counselor trainings and maintain ongoing professional development.
