Support the classroom teacher in implementing district-approved curriculum to foster academic and interpersonal growth in preschool students. Maintain a safe, student-centered learning environment while documenting progress and ensuring pupil health and hygiene.
Candidates must be able to pass multiple background checks and complete state and YMCA mandated training programs. General knowledge of preschool developmental milestones and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and parents are required.
Support the classroom teacher in implementing curriculum consistent with goals and objectives of YMCA of the Pines and the Medford School District; Maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom; Assist in evaluating pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports and student evaluations; Maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service education activities provided by YMCA of the Pines and Medford School District, performance evaluations, and selected professional growth activities as described in individual professional improvement plans and other relevant education opportunities; Maintain the health and safety of all pupils, including, but not limited to: application of basic first aid, support with diapering and toileting, and assistance with general health and hygiene; Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day; Uphold and enforce program rules and DCF requirements; and Perform such other tasks and assigned
